The problem is that man is in rebellion. We don’t seek him, because we want to be the ones in control of our life. Our heart is deceitful. We don’t trust God. We have blinded ourselves. We enjoy being self-centered. We making excuses for our own shortcomings while pointing at the failures of others. In my heart, I have built a throne for myself to sit on, with a crown of my own.

Jesus came at Christmas... he is the son of God and the creator of all things. Fully God and fully man. He made you and loves you. He knew you before you were born and he brought you here today to hear these words. He couldn’t leave you trapped in rebellion, so he took your place. That’s what the cross represents. He died a horrible death so that you wouldn’t suffer the consequences of your own rebellion. He saw that you were headed to harming yourself and he got in the way.
