Why Hope? 「なぜ」希望を持っていられるか？

Intro: the last four weeks... that Tuesday's journal (some of this was fueled with emotion)

Today all day I prayed, “Lord, let your will be done. And if Rhema is with you, give her a hug and tell her it’s from me”.
I prayed this every time I thought of her throughout the day. As I headed home from the office and prayed it again in the car, I thought to myself, what if she feels like that’s too much already.
But right away I felt the Spirit tell me, “Not at all. Actually she’s praying for you. ‘I’m good now. Give dad a hug. He needs it more right now.’”
Suddenly I was reminded of this passage, almost as if she wanted Jesus to tell me it: ““Therefore, since [you] are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, ... run with endurance the race set out for [you],” ‭‭(Hebrews‬ ‭12:1‬)
Then in my minds eye I saw her give a big smile and say, “Just like mom showed me. There’s no more tears here.”

... This is a great story... Jesus calls people who come... as people gathered at the door of this house they were healed... but this is more than just a great story... it's historical fact...

There are several passages of scripture that as a young christian scared me… I shared a week ago about the things being done in secret being shouted from the rooftops, as a teenage boy there were certain things being done in secret I didn’t want shouted from the rooftops… this passage is one that I worried about as well… see I didn’t grow up in a Christian family, I found faith at fourteen… and I came into church at an age when many of the other boys and girls that grew up in church were starting to question their faith and live far less passionate than me about the salvation they had in Christ. So when it says

Perhaps it was fear of falling away that made me even more passionate about guarding my faith. To become sure of it. To let his fire burn in me. Inviting people to youth group. Dancing with all my might. Leading the christian club at lunch time. Getting kicked out of Biology class for bringing my bible and writing “bereshit bara Elohim et hassamaiym waet haares” on the doodle space at the top of the worksheet… I was eager to prove to God and everyone that my roots went down … and I’m glad I did …

My background a little … not just a pastor … not just a missionary … not just a president … but also a father now for 13+11=24 years and the younger one is in the hospital today… if you came to his call in the last year or so you’d have had no idea what I’ve been through…

Here’s the point… the word you receive here at church isn’t human wisdom… let it go down deep… let it take root… let it find living water…

Going deep in God is about faithfulness. Faithfulness and success… faithfulness comes when we make the right decision even when it’s difficult…

I want to talk today about the TRUTH... we live in a day of so much misinformation... it's the information age... might as well be the misinformation age. What I'm talking about today is not enough to just know. We live in an information age. Unfortunately we have too much information and not enough wisdom, insight, attention, meaning, TRUTH

1. Satan is the Father of Lies, Jesus is the Truth サタンは嘘の父、イエスは真理

What lies are we living in today. lured by wealth, power, the shape of religion without the truth... car light... lies: shame, worthiness, desires, inability...

You know some of you journal just to fill in a box. You're looking for any application.... Journal is not about always finding some way we need to tweak how we live. If it's not honest, you'll never get an honest answer. You can see it in the psalms.
