Resource Management
Stuff. I got stuff…
It’s not new. people even turned down Jesus because of stuff. So much stuff we don’t enough places or times to stuff all our stuff. Exploring the problem...
Prioritization
That means we need to prioritize. What stuff is better. More important. More worthy of attention.
In each area do I have accountability? Do I have someone I am helping and someone to help me?
God. Health. Spouse. Kids. Church/ministry. Work.
Health means wellbeing, not just physical, but many other kinds
Education. Discipleship. Love.... starting by thinking about the heart before the action
Resources
Resources: time, focus, energy, emotions, money, physical space, relationships, things.
Characteristics of these resources. (Love people, use things... not the other way around)
The demands on us in different areas should determine how we invest our resources. Get a good bed.... computer chair. Computer. Phone. Save up to buy up. Royalty with patches. Less consumption, more collection. Functional analysis.
Capture and sorting
Five folders: Trash. Archive. Reference. Current. Sharing.
Search means make good file names. Date. Person. Project. Purpose. Status. Group things in these categories. A folder should only have things of the same type. Flatter hierarchies.
Good note taking. Recording. Passwords. Contact lists. Scanning/digitization of paper. Importance of cloud storage.
Handling your stuff
Do. Delegate. Defer. (simple GTD)
Project management worksheet. Current projects and today. Sort things by what takes the least time.
Email templates. Scheduled posting.
Tracking time. Limit time consumption by setting alarms first (pomodoro).
